Still feel utterly dreadful - voice awful, full of a cold, throat sore, and sinuses seemingly being pumped full of that expanding foam stuff so I've had a constant headache for two days now.
Monday afternoon I went to hospital and had the lovely experience of my first laryngoscopy. A local anaesthetic spray was squirted up my nose, then a laryngoscope (long, thin tube with a fibre-optic camera inside) was pushed up my nostril and down into my throat. It is a strange feeling when something bumps against your Adam's apple... only from the inside.
The long and the short of it was that I don't have nodules, but what I do have are two protruding sections of cartilige in my throat (this happens in some people - nothing they can do about it) and also have... wait for it... swollen vocal cords. So there you go. One to join the ranks of "jogger's nipple" I think.
At the moment then I'm trying not to speak too much, and am busying myself with CRM manuals aplenty. Would much prefer to feel "normal" though.
