A lovely week

Well, my voice is an awful lot better. I'm still taking steroids to reduce the swelling in my throat, and it still hurts as the day goes on to the point that I get in and immediately reach out for my spray in desperation. The good news is that it does the trick.

Decided earlier this week to lay off caffeine a bit to help my throat, so I bought a box of Twinings fruit infusions. Most of them smell great but taste of warmth and nothing else, apart from "camomile and limeflower" which looks like sprout water, smells like a greenhouse, and tastes somewhere inbetween. Not impressed, so I think tomorrow I'll buy a small box of decaffeinated Yorkshire Tea (the BEST tea) and have that instead.

Training 2734 (SQL 2005 programming update) in Leeds Wednesday - Friday this week. I wasn't looking forward to it as I'd had a bad time on my last 2005 course, plus of course my voice had been bad to say the least, but it was a great course with a fab bunch of people. On Thursday my boss (Damien) sat in on the first half of the morning to see what I was like - goes towards the June appraisal / pay review for one thing - and he was very impressed, which is always nice to hear. Also had a big chunk of good news today on the CRM front, which was fantastic to hear.

Busy week ahead of us. Out with work tomorrow night in Manchester; seeing Dara O'Briain on Sunday; seeing The Cardigans on Tuesday (yay!), and Low on Friday (fantastic!)

All for now as bed beckons. Night night.
