Well, who'd have thought it but I'm now 37. For the last week Lou and I have been on holiday in Parga, which is a small village on the Greek mainland fairly close to Corfu and Paxos (and Antipaxos, if you want to be picky), and while we were there I celebrated my birthday.
Parga was quite a nice place but did disappoint us a little as we'd expected it to be more "traditional" Greek, but it actually turned out to be very commercialised and full of bars playing what I affectionally know as cat vomit music (buy a cat, listen to it being sick, and you'll know what I mean) and almost every house was a bar, a restaurant, or a souvenir shop of some sort. Oh well. We had a nice break anyway, and best of all - no headaches! Well, two, but one was a hangover and the other was just a "normal" headache, so it looks as though the tablets may be working - yay!
Some pictures are on my Facebook page if you're my friend on there, and the same ones are also on my Flickr page if you know its address. In the mean time, here are a couple to look at...
This is Parga itself, taken on our last full day there, and it gives a pretty good impression of what the place is like - multicoloured buildings with red tiled rooves, tumbling down the hillside to the edge of the Ionian sea.
And this is us. I held the camera out at arm's length and hoped for the best, and it worked out pretty well.
