At last I have it in writing that my brain is normal! The letter from the hospital arrived on Monday and confirmed that my MRI brain scan revealed no causes for concern, and so my headaches have been diagnosed as just being migraines, albeit of the icepick variety. The letter advised me to see my doctor for a prescription, so as of this morning I am taking beta blockers (Propranalol) and hopefully I'll see an improvement. It can't be much worse though - already this week I've had two bad headaches and lots of icepick ones, albeit nothing as bad as the day a couple of weeks ago when I had at least thirty.
I've just come back from running a three-day course in a former asylum in Nottingham! The building was fabulous from the outside, if a little run-down inside, and the course went fairly well too.
Decorating update: The hall and stairs are almost complete so the end is finally in sight! We can't wait for the day to come when we don't have to spend time each evening scraping dribbled paint from our new light fittings, the kitchen floor tiles, the worktops... etc. as the decorator is a bit of a menace for such niceties. Everywhere does look very nice though - well, everywhere that isn't covered with paint or piled high with dust sheets and half-used rolls of wallpaper anyway - and we're slowly getting the finished rooms back to normal. My techno-chamber, now sadly stripped of its "Thomas The Tank Engine" wallpaper, now looks lovely and minimal with just my desk, a new vertical blind, and a picture of Konnie Huq hanging up. Konnie had to be put back ASAP, of course.
