Well the decorating is now in full swing, and Eddie the painter has almost finished the main and back bedrooms, and yesterday stripped the bathroom to reveal its brown plaster and ceiling complete with a myriad of spots where adhesive from polystyrene tiles many years ago had been left behind. Nice! It looked like a cave in there when we got home last night, and this morning we had to turn the light on even though it was beautifully sunny outside.
So far the almost-finished rooms look brilliant. We've gone for white paint everywhere to make it look bright, fresh and clean, and it has worked a treat, each room looking much larger than it had done before. The only problem we've had was when Eddie had a bit of a mad moment and gloss painted the UPVC window frame in the back bedroom, but he's managed to remove most of it since then. At least it wasn't the lounge, I suppose. He'll be finishing the bathroom tomorrow, then coming back on Tuesday to do my computer room, which will probably take all weekend for us to empty, and also the lounge, and maybe even get the hall & stairs done. It will look brilliant when it is finished, but for now we're living in a paint-scented world with bits of wallpaper and plaster on the carpets, ladders on the stairs, and no curtains in the bedroom, sheets of newspaper taped to the glass providing some privacy.
In other news I've still not had a letter from the hospital about my brain scan, but hopefully it will come sometime this week all being well. I'm still getting the icepick headaches, albeit not as frequently as I did a couple of weeks ago, but I'm still keen to get a final solution for the problem.
