Into the last few weeks

A strange feeling came over me on Friday afternoon. There I was, running another 2072 (SQL 2000 Administration) course in Altrincham, really enjoying myself and feeling it had been a great week, when I suddenly realised that I was about to finish my final course in Altrincham. Wow. For a moment I kind of pulled up, felt a bit choked, and then carried on, but it was a really strange thing to suddenly realise. Still it was a good way to finish as it had been a brilliant week and I'd had a great group of people.

So what happens now? Well this week I'm on prep, studying for a custom onsite course I'm doing on Windows XP in Sheffield (or maybe Rotherham) next week. I'm also popping to Hinckley on Thursday to drop some PCs off. After that I've got a week in London, and then... that's it. I leave Xpertise on Friday 19th August, and my final course for them will be 2072 in London. After this I've got a week of doing nothing, then we go to Lindos for a fortnight, and on Monday 12th September I start at Remarc. First course there looks set to be a sit-in on an XML course.

Currently feeling very nervous about leaving & then starting, but after seven years there I'm bound to feel jittery. Something had to be done anyway.

On a different note, the Bob Mould album is great - back to his best form again. At the moment I'm also reading the new Harry Potter book and had struggled for a week or so as I've not really been in a reading mood. However I picked it up in bed last night and put it down 100 pages later, so it has suddenly grabbed me. Musically I'm also listening to a lot of Sigur Ros, an Icelandic band (maybe I got into them as I've always wanted to go to Iceland, and this is probably the closest I'll get) who are extremely brilliant in a quiet sort of way.

Oh, and slightly belatedly I've just discovered that I have three extra Microsoft certifications I didn't know I had. I am now a triple MCP in Microsoft CRM (applications professional, customization, and installation & configuration.) Woo. Logos coming to the site soon I hope.

Finally, the mysterious writing project I am currently working on is coming along nicely. I've been doing some work of late on some of the surrounding ephemera for it rather than the bulky part itself. All will be revealed soon enough ;-)
