Had a lovely four days in Sheffield this week. I've never been there before and I was surprised that it was so small. I was running a custom 2261 / 2262 (supporting users running Windows XP / supporting users running applications on Windows XP - two fairly dreadful courses to be honest) at The Sheffield College and I had a cracking bunch of people. Our place hadn't sent the images out though so I had to kind of wing it, making the course up as I went along, and it actually went rather well like that and was good fun. Each day I took the train and had a nice hour or so each way, sitting, listening to MP3s, reading a book. Very pleasant, and sort of prep for working at Remarc in a sense.
Next week I'm in London doing my final course for Xpertise, which will be 2072 (SQL 2000 Administration). A good course to end with. Pity it is in London though. I've arranged my flights and hotel etc. myself and I'm hoping it will be a nice week. It will be very strange when Friday comes though.
I finished "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" last weekend too. Loved it to bits. I've got various theories about the ending and how the final book will be as well, and rather than put them here (spoilers) if you're remotely interested drop me a line via the "Contact me" page and I'll witter on at you via email. I'm currently reading "The Big Over Easy" by Jasper Fforde and it is tremendous. Remember, it was the book I got signed when I was drunk and interviewed by a foxy goth a couple of weeks ago? That one. Anyway, I'm loving it to bits.
Not long now til we go to Lindos :-) Neither of us can wait, and we're off to pick the tickets up this weekend. Ooo! Should really start to buy things for it too, like clothes and assorted creams.
Finally, the mystery writing project is coming along nicely and is still very secret, *but* this site does actually contain a page all about it, although it isn't linked to and you'd have to access it directly but I'm not telling you the URL yet... (evil grin).
