I've just found out that I've been shortlisted for the British Computer Society "IT Training Instructor of the Year" award!!! According to the original bumf I received this means I'm going to be invited to do a 15-minute presentation to a panel of judges and take part in a questions and answers session (gulp!) and if I make it through that part I'm invited to the awards dinner in London in October. Honestly, I'm scared.
Just finished a thoroughly entertaining three days running a Lotus Notes course in Blackburn, for a company who produce audio CDs. It was a fascinating place and it reminded me of watching "Play School" many years ago when they had sections devoted to how crisps were made and that sort of thing - CDs being made from scratch, having their labels printed, put into their cases... magic :-) It was nice being back in the happy hunting ground of Lotus too - the first time I've run that course for a couple of years now.
I spent last night proof-reading "The Creature in the Rose", specifically "Martin's Wish." It appears between pages 123 and 164 and I'd forgotten how dark a story it is. The book should be out sometime soon and will be approximately 300 pages long - about the same as "Kaleidoscope."
Holiday soon too :-) Eeeeeeeeee! (That's an excitement sound, by the way.)
