London...

Spent the last week running a custom CRM course in London - Tooting to be precise. The course went fairly well, but as the people I was training were experienced CRM users they already knew many of the pitfalls, so it kind of became a training course for me as well :-)

Because of the problems on the West Coast rail line I decided to fly, and no, I didn't go with Flyjet! I went with BMI and have to say that they were excellent. The only problem in fact was the distance between Heathrow and where I was working / staying, which meant that the taxi cost £55 on Sunday evening and £35 yesterday (oh yes, and it was an unregistered taxi coming back...) Once I arrived at Heathrow yesterday afternoon I hit the business lounge and sat for a while, happily drinking Guinness and eating biscuits, waiting for my flight to come. In the end it was delayed by about half an hour, but hey, mustn't grumble.

While I was away I actually did some writing too! One of my old pals from Xpertise, Stuart Hebron, has come back from Australia for a month as he's going to a wedding in August, so in his honour I went back on a promise I'd made myself and wrote a mini-"Mushroom Factory." Granted, it it just a single piece (2 pages long) but it was fun to do and the whole thing came to me while I was waiting for that £55 taxi on Sunday night. We're going to see Stu this afternoon, so it will be seen then (Lou has already read it and said it was good.)

On a slightly "down" note I'm suffering a bit at the moment. About eighteen months ago I had an operation to have a pilonidal sinus removed (look it up, but be warned - it isn't nice) and once everything had settled down again I was fine. However, on about Wednesday of this week I started to feel pain, and now it is really bad. Could it have come back? Is that possible? If it is still bad on Monday I'll be going to the doctors...
