I received a letter on Friday from the British Computer Society confirming the news that I am a medallist in the "Trainer of the Year" category, and explaining what happens next...
On 13th September I go to London and, at 2:15, I make a presentation to a panel of judges for fifteen minutes, and then they ask me questions. By 2:45 it will all be over. Then, on 19th October, I go to the black-tie awards dinner at the Hilton Park Lane (!) where the overall winner is announced. So I'm in the final four!
Yes, I'm nervous, and yes, I'm already working on my presentation...
PS On a different note, many congratulations to Rik Taylor and Tascha Moffatt on their wedding yesterday.
