We survived!

Hello. Well, we got back from our week in Paphos last night and thankfully we survived our two flights with Flyjet - the airline nobody seemed to have heard of. Truth be told the flights were perfectly fine, but the planes were somewhat rickety - going out the plane was bouncing up and down and making worrying creaking noises as we taxied towards the runway at Manchester, whilst coming back one set of toilets and a TV screen had packed up - and the in-flight meals of a tiny breakfast going out and sausages and mash were a bit odd.

Paphos was fairly nice, but we were glad we'd only gone for a week. The weather at the start of the week was a bit cool (Lou was cold one day on the beach) but after Tuesday it got hotter and hotter each day, and I managed to burn my forehead at the sides which meant I had to sunbathe with a T-shirt over my face for a few days :-( We had some lovely meals at the Trattoria La Vigna (or "the vagina" as we called it) and at a place called Viva Cyprus where they made the best lamb kleftiko EVER, and the week went by ever so slowly, so it feels like we've been away for months. Well, longer than a week.

As always we passed the time by reading. Lou read some of her usual chick-lit, and the best thing I read was "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides, which was fabulous.

Sad to be back to normal again though, especially with work tomorrow... Still, not long until we go to Lindos again! The countdown to that one has begun :-)
