You may have noticed that I've redesigned my website. It now looks very minimal indeed, which has been my goal for quite some time now - all new stories I've added have appeared as black text on a white background rather than having that horrible blue marble thing. So, a summary of what's gone:
* No more blue background!
* No more framesets!
* No more Flash buttons!
* No more buttons at all!
* No more JavaScript to make things work!
* No more fixed size text!
* No more pictures at all (apart from certification logos)!
* No more "What's new" page!
* No more "Guestbook"!
* No more "Links" page!
* No more popup windows to show story backgrounds!
So what do we have now?
* A greatly reduced number of pages making up the entire site.
* A very clean, streamlined look.
* A favicon!
* "Breadcrumb trail" navigation (see the "You are here:" bar at the top of the screen which constantly updates to show where you are and gives you links back to the home page and the previous page.)
* A header section which never moves at all.
* Cascading Style Sheets used for all design attributes (not really required, but I wanted it to be consistent).
* All text now resizes with page zooming in browsers.
* No fixed page sizes, so everything resizes to fit your screen (tested in two browsers in different resolutions, and also on two mobile phone browsers.)
* Faster loading and navigation.
* Story backgrounds appear in a "notes" section at the bottom of most stories (not all stories have comments.)
* Updated "catalogue" page where all links point to this site rather than externally.
* Links to my presences on social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Things still to change:
* More stories etc. to upload.
* Further work to be done on the "Writing" and "Catalogue" pages (I want to get rid of the tables but still haven't decided on a format as yet).
Please let me know what you think of it. If you find any issues, including mundane things like broken links or pages where the header moves up or down, or if fonts change anywhere, please let me know.

Superbly clean and tidy site, Pete. Don't need to check too far to see that the content does it full justice. Very best of luck. Neil
