And the winner is...

Olga Londer, from QA Training.

It was a good do, and the Hilton Park Lane is very posh (and expensive - two glasses of white wine costing £11) but I did feel incredibly disappointed in the end. Still, a good time was had by all, and Philippa Forrester, who hosted the evening, is very, very nice.

I spent the evening sitting between Sally Tanski, a fellow medallist, and a lady called Nikki (or Nicky - I didn't check on spelling) who worked for Quest Media, the company who staged the event for the BCS, and we had a good laugh throughout. Lou was sitting at the back of the room with James Cook, one of the directors of Xpertise, and a French lady who was the training manager for one of our key accounts, and she enjoyed it too. It was her first "black tie" event, and she enjoyed the whole posh frock aspect of it. Once I get the photos out of the digital camera I'll see about sticking a couple of them on here.

All of the medallists were presented with a gold medal, our names engraved on the back and the logo of the event on the front. It's a nice keepsake. Here are some pictures of it...

Anyway, apart from the 4-hour journey from hell to get there (and that was by plane - the problem coming when somebody got stuck under a train at Piccadilly Circus by all accounts) we had a good night out. Now my fingers are crossed for the Institute of IT Training awards, for which I've also been nominated... We find out how the shortlist looks next month. Fingers crossed...
