Well, my "remastered full-colour edition" copy of "House of Leaves" by Mark Z Danielewski arrived yesterday - yippee!
The bad news...
Amazon (US) had sent me the wrong book. AAAGGGHH!!! They had sent me a "normal" copy (admittedly one where every "house" is printed in blue ink - and I haven't got a copy like that, just a b&w paperback and a signed first edition hardback "red" with every "minotaur" and all crossed-out passages in red ink) instead of the one I wanted. Not good, and needless to say I'm not at all happy.
So I went to their site and filled in an email refund enquiry. I provided all the details and sent it on. This morning they replied... asking me for details of what the problem was, so evidently they hadn't actually bothered to read my email. So I sent a very snotty reply...
I just want the book I ordered basically, and if I have to send this one back then I expect them to pay the postage (about £6 I reckon). Alternatively if they let me keep this one and sent the one I wanted, bonus! Mind you, four copies of one book does seem a little excessive. Lou was sufficiently baffled when I placed an order for my third.
