Spent the last couple of days getting used to CRM 3 and the new courses. How are they looking? The product is extremely cool, 90% of the things I'd hoped to see in there being included - hurrah! The whole product is slicker, faster, more professional, and much more powerful. Some of the new customisation stuff is gobsmackingly good. Sure, there are still a few quirks, but it is light years ahead of version 1.2 - and I quite liked that.
As for the courses they are all out now and I'm busily printing, reading and downloading the necessary bits and pieces. The new course track looks more sensible, now having six (I think) courses in there at the moment. Also the Installation & Configuration manual is no longer the size of Yorkshire but the content looks pretty fantastic, structured like a textbook, with better coverage of system requirements and installation options, and less waffle - also nothing whatsoever on data migration (yay!) as this is going to get a separate course all of its own (boo!)
All in all: well done, Microsoft.
Other news: Well and truly back into the swing of work now after the Christmas break, and my schedule is filling up nicely with a mixture of SQL 2005 and 2000 courses, with a smattering of other stuff too.
The writing is still coming along nicely by the way with the new story, "Can't Remember?", shaping up well. I'm loving being back in writing mode for the first time in almost three years, and some of my Bewrite chums are giving me "virtual" slaps on the back for getting my finger out at last - thank you Terri and Johnny :-) When will it be finished? No idea, but I'm in Leeds next week so hopefully I'll get plenty done on the train as I'm rapidly running out of books to read!
Oh yeah, and we did book another holiday in the end: Santorini it is, in time for my birthday. Should be nice then.
That's all for now. More eventually.
