Decent week

Another 2073 ("programming a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database") course over and done with. I don't think I'll ever love this course, but this week was probably the most fun I've had with it so far, and I had a cracking group of people too, which always helps. Strange to say that talking about indexes (indices? indii?) is enjoyable, but maybe I'm just going mad - I don't know.

Best news of the week is that I am finally shut of the worst mobile phone I've ever had - the Motorola C385 is no more. Hurrah! Last night I finally snapped, went to the Orange shop in the Trafford Centre, and traded it in for a Nokia 3120, which seems to be a lovely little thing. Plus, best of all, it is a phone, not a camera, not an MP3 player, but a phone, which is exactly what I want in a phone. Call me old fashioned.

Oh, and talking of MP3 players, it hasn't arrived yet. I e-mailed the bloke at the Sunday Times earlier in the week and he told me it was being sent from the manufacturer this week. Hopefully it will arrive soon.

Talking of the internet, thanks to Wannadoo for screwing up my broadband connection at home. I asked them to switch my line from the one I have in my "techno chamber" to the one we use for the rest of the house. Needless to say, they made a mess of it and only gave BT the instruction to disconnect the broadband line from the "techno chamber" number, and not to add it to the house one. Fools. So now I'm stuck with no internet access at home for the next week until they get their fingers out and sort it. How frustrating.
